The researchers were searching for a way to extract an Esper’s ability and convert it into another form of energy, and at present Jinwon was the research institute’s sole sponsor. That was why he continued accepting requests from the center director even after earning enough money to live comfortably for the rest of his life.

His sponsorship did not end with transferring money. He provided byproducts obtained during gate clearing, of course, and sometimes even climbed onto the experimental table himself to assist with the research. Jinwon, who could not be killed by any method, was an ideal test subject.
